Come along to this very special monthly meeting and hear from our guest speaker, Ron Moon, 4WDer, camper, bird watcher, diver, hunter, canoeist, fisherman, photographer and author. The meeting component will be kept very short so as to allow for more time to listen to Ron.
This workshop will focus on using OziExplorer CE equipped GPS units, covering how we can use them effectively on 4WD trips, rallies or touring. The workshop is aimed at the beginner to intermediate level and will be suitable for people new to OziCE. People with Hema Navigators may also find the workshop useful - see note below.
Families and family activities will be focus of this long weekend camp at Licola. Activities such as walking, fishing, mountain bike riding and 4WDing will be included. More details to come.
When: Friday 31st Oct to Tue 4th Nov (Trip Leader to be there from 2pm on Friday 31st)
We are holding a trip planning meeting on Thur. 20th. Nov. 2014 at 7.30pm.
We will meet upstairs at East Malvern RSL to sketch out some of the trips for the next 12 months.
If you intend to run some trips over the next 12 months or even if you have ideas for trips or places to visit but don't want to run the trip then come along.
If you can't make the night but have ideas please let me know, I can be contacted by phoning 0488018070 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Trips are the lifeblood of the club so thanks in advance for your input.
Once again we will be assisting Parks Victoria in track clearing the weekend prior to Cup weekend. The tracks we will be focussing on are the remote Deddick Trail, Bowens Track and Waratah Flat in the Snowy River National Park. Due to extensive fires early this year in the Snowy River National Park together with storms and high winds, Parks Victoria are predicting that there will be many trees to clear and tracks could be damaged.
Well equipped vehicles with winches, chain saw certified operators and sturdy chainsaws will be required. Only people with a current chainsaw certificate will be able to use a chainsaw. People to assist will also be welcome. We will be bush camping in remote bush or camping at McKillops campground depending on progress made. Parks Victoria Rangers will be accompanying each of the 3 groups and provide communications support.
